While it is not wrong to be poor, the celebration of poverty often stems from selfishness. A person who is poor may save a life, but a wealthy individual has the capacity to build hospitals and save tens of thousands. If a person is rich, they have the opportunity—and the responsibility—to do good on a larger scale. Conversely, those who are poor may be limited in how they can help others, but they can still contribute in meaningful ways.
Money is merely paper and numbers—exchanged for a person’s time and effort. If someone lacks wealth, they can instead invest their time and actions into advancing humanity. Positive deeds and efforts are of equal value to charitable donations and are vital for progress.
The greater a person’s fortune, the greater their responsibility to their fellow humans. Like a Pyramid, those with the most power and resources can do the most good for the greatest number of people below them.
